Van Houten Consulting and Design is a civil engineering company specializing in public and private sector land development projects. Our clients seek accurate and dependable solutions for site grading, erosion control, stormwater treatment, roadway, domestic water and sanitary sewer designs. We are on the the preferred list of engineers for multiple government agencies and have guest lectured on industry topics on behalf of the University of Idaho.

Our Approach
Upon the award of any project we will set to work establishing clear directives with our client in a project kick-off meeting and will hold subsequent progress meetings to continuously monitor and refine project goals. Meetings will always be held in an organized manner with set agendas to ensure efficiency, thereby respecting each team member’s valuable time. We can confidently communicate through several platforms, including video conferencing, but remain available for in person meetings whenever needed. Our services are based upon widely recognized industry standards for design and QA/QC. We strive to make our deliverables such as construction drawings, engineering reports, supporting calculations, construction specifications, record drawings and O&M manuals highly detailed while still easy to understand and implement. We take pride with conducting ourselves in a professional, friendly manner with all staff members, management, and elected and appointed officials. It is not only imperative we see our clients’ goals of quality, time and budget are met, but we also aim to establish and maintain trusted long-term relationships.
